I can’t wait! I haven’t so much as cracked my cover but I’m ready. (Also, NOT TO BRAG but my mom and I buddy-read a Wilkie Collins book that I bet is gonna be mentioned.) (The Moonstone.) (Look at me flexin’!)

Gah! That’s a good flex! I’ve always meant to read The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins. (Hey, I guess we can blame that book for starting the woman/girl title trend.)

I am married to a Dickens scholar! This is my flex, and I realize has nothing to do with my own skills but it's the best I got.

Dickens is mentioned in the first six chapters of this book. Maybe you’ll find out something to surprise your husband? (And if not, maybe we can make something up?)

I love this--as you know I *LOVE* this sort of thing and I am way under-read on the history of crime fiction! Thanks for doing the hard work for me. ;)

My copy arrived today and I’m so excited about the rich discussions and insights to come! Have you considered adding a Zoom format? I have no doubt many would happily pay for the privilege!

I am so excited you’re reading along, Laurie! The Zoom idea is a good one but maybe we will try this book first and see if we get participation by comments, then look ahead to a more truly interactive format (discussing other books) if there’s interest!

I am ridiculously excited about this! Everything is more fun with a self-imposed deadline and I only wish I was joking!
