Re “The trifecta: good characters, good plot, and something to say.” This is the perfect way to summarize what to aim for!Congratulations on all the “cooking” you’ve been doing over the last 8.5 months. Baby! New manuscript! You’re a marvel!!!
Mazel tov, Caitlen! I just had to let you know that when our daughter was born, her 3 year old brother wanted to name her Ship Creek Bob--presumably after a local waterway in Anchorage. No idea where that came from otherwise. He was quite insistent. To be honest, if he had suggested "Boom," I think there's a good chance we might've given in to that.
PS from A: the body of water was “Ship Creek” (in Anchorage). We had no idea where “Bob” came from. But for a while, during any baby name discussion,if we didn’t say the full name he was certain we planned to use, our son would get teary. I have a feeling he disavows all memory of that episode.
Just earlier this week our daughter told one of the teachers at preschool that we're having a boy (we don't know) and that we're naming him Todd (we are not).

Thank you for saying that, as I lie on the couch, unable to make myself do one more word of editing today.
So excited for you on all fronts!!! And I approve the name Boom. Congrats, Caitlin! xo
Congratulations! Such an exciting update, in more ways than one.
Congratulations, Caitlin! Wishing you the best and so excited for Erin's post!
Congratulations! The loveliest news.
Well that is just the cutest bump pic ever :) YAY for babies of the human AND book variety!
CONGRATS! On the novel and the human!!! Best wishes to you and baby ♥️♥️
Congrats! And regardless of what Baby gets named, the nickname is clearly Boom.
Yeah I feel like Boom is non-negotiable.
Baby Boom is so funny! Congrats on all fronts!

Boom - basic, predictable
Ship Creek Bob - incredible, creative, begs so many questions
(I love "Boom" but I REALLY love "Ship Creek Bob")
