Also, I will add that I finished the first draft of the book I was working on that was completely character led and (silencing my inner critic here) it was definitely suspenseful. And now I'm doing an edit that is still very focused on character but (I think) I'm upping the ante. My 2-cents addition that I really like the point that suspenseful plot can flow from an emphasis on character!
I’ve never felt more validated than I did while reading that many (most??) suspense writers don’t realize at first that they’re writing suspense. Can we get a support group going? Lol
